The Story.
So a guy walked into our jewelry shop and this
time we were asked to source a few stones for him to look at side by side. It's called a diamond viewing process where you place three or more stones in the customer's price range that have similar general characteristics.... or not. This person was most interested in the right size visually, relatively speaking to the band, relative to her hand. So, a smidge larger than a 1 carat. And boy this was fun! The diamonds change their appearance in different light, so fortunately for him, we have natural light and just walked up to front door with the tray....ehem, and didn't trip along the way!.
The process.
Platinum. Again. This time we just got a piece of metal and beat on it with a hammer until it was round. Then we drilled into it and cut it up real fancy using a method called French Style Pave. You either like it or you don't and for me, you either spend your life learning about the process and understand the art of fine jewelry making, or you don't.
