Most Popular Colored Gem Overall

People like color and if it is unusual, all the better...

The Story.

Two words.  Montana Sapphire.  This was actually a tricolored, unheated, Montana sapphire that was around 1.25ct and GORGEOUS.  Wow.  So, the story is, is that these are pretty rare, they are from a specific mining location in Montana and it was cut there also, so people sort of know what they are doing in the trade.  All that didn't matter when I was given the opportunity to hand select a few for a client, tho.  I literally was standing at the front door with a tray of them (only slightly perspiring) and this one just kept jumping out at me!  That afternoon my client came in and I sat her down with several different options all next to each other and said, "Hold on, I have to grab this....the phone rang.  Next, UPS delivered, next a customer came by to pick up, next....probably 20 minutes went by and she calmly said, "I don't know, this one keeps jumping out at me".  Same stone.  Check out the video on YouTube for a close up of its color change.

The Process.

So, what do you do with a gorgeous stone that is going to be worn on a short necklace, near the throat?  Nothing.  We simply used 14KW gold and not platinum for the color of the bezel and just opened up the sides so people could see it as they approached it, not to let more color in....that's not how it works.  We did put it on a diamond cut wheat chain tho and gave it just a bit of sparkle.
